On the night of October 1, 2017, the Combined Communications Center of Las Vegas faced one of the most challenging moments in emergency response history when a gunman opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival. With over 22,000 attendees in the direct line of fire, 9-1-1 call-takers, dispatchers, and first responders were overwhelmed with reports of gunfire, mass casualties, and chaos. This event underscored the critical need for preparedness, effective communication, and emotional resilience in emergency response.
